We're based in Jersey City and run our trucks out to the towns nearby: Hoboken, Bayonne, Kearny, Union City, Secaucus, Harrison, West New York, North Arlington, North Bergen, Lyndhurst, Elizabeth, East Rutherford, Belleville, Rutherford, Carlstadt, Fairview, East Orange, Cliffside Park, Hillside, Ridgefield, Irvington, Nutley, Moonachie, Edgewater, Little Ferry, Bloomfield, Wood-Ridge, City of Orange, Glen Ridge, Teterboro, and the Downtown, Downtown Jersey City, Greenville, The Heights, and Constable Hook sections closer in. We don't have a location in any of them - we drive there from Jersey City, same as we'd drive across town.
What matters more than the map is the housing stock. Across this stretch of North Jersey, most homes went up between 1938 and 1996, with the typical house dating to around 1958, and the majority of the 133 named areas we track lean pre-1960. That single fact explains most of the service calls: original torsion springs sized for doors half the weight of today's insulated steel, hardware bolted to jambs that have shifted with the house, and openers retrofitted onto track that was never meant to carry a motor. A house near Downtown or The Heights built in that same window has the same bones as one further out - the fix looks the same no matter which side of the map you're on.
Newer construction in a few pockets changes the calculus: less rust on the track, but often the same era's springs if nobody's touched them since.
